William Boyd at the Southbank Centre
On Thursday 26th September international bestselling author William Boyd will launch Solo, his thrilling new James Bond novel at a major event. Boyd, in conversation with GQ literary editor, Olivia Cole, will discuss Ian Fleming and his experience of writing about the world’s most iconic spy. Introducing the event will be special guest, Lucy Fleming, Ian Fleming’s niece.

Breakfast with Bond at The Dorchester
The Dorchester is the setting for the opening scene of the brand new James Bond book Solo by international bestselling author William Boyd. Set in 1969, the story opens to 007 treating himself to a birthday breakfast...

On Saturday 28 September, the hotel will be hosting a special ‘Breakfast with Bond’ at The Grill at The Dorchester joined by author William Boyd reading scenes from the first chapter, mingling with guests and sharing his experience of writing the book. Setting the 1969 scene, vintage cars from the 1960s will be parked on The Dorchester’s forecourt, hits from the 60s will be played in the restaurant, and copies of a newspaper and an actual menu from 1969 will be on hand. Optional dress code: swinging 60s.
